Rachelle Joy Hoffman

Hi, I’m Rachelle - an artist, organic gardener, wife, and momma living in South Florida.

I found my way back to painting during one of the hardest seasons of my life, after a nervous breakdown two years ago. Art became a form of therapy for me — a way to slow down, let go, and reconnect with myself. I didn’t set out to become an artist. I just needed to create. Over time, I discovered that making art helps me process, express, and heal — I’m deeply grateful for that.

My garden and the natural world around me are a big part of who I am and what I create. I love working with plants, vegetables, and flowers I grow myself, as well as native plants from around South Florida. I often use them directly in my process, making physical imprints and textures that bring nature into each piece — literally.

About My Artwork

My art is intuitive, colorful, and deeply rooted in the natural world.

I explore many styles and materials — from watercolor and ink to acrylics, photography, and mixed media. Some days I’ll make abstract washes with watercolor or ink. Other times, I press flowers directly onto the paper, layering acrylic paint for texture and then finishing with watercolor. I also enjoy combining photography with paint, creating multi-dimensional pieces that blur the line between image and imagination.

My work isn’t about technical perfection — it’s about emotion, color, and connection. I paint what I paint because it brings me peace and joy. I’m especially drawn to incorporating elements from my garden and surroundings, grounding my art in a sense of place — my home amid South Florida’s vibrant flora and fauna.
